Yesterday a starling, (i think) flew into the window and stunned itself. It fell into the flower pot and stayed there for 20 mins or so before hopping off onto the nearby roof.
It seemed to make a full recovery, even though we did have to "encourage" the cat to stay away from it.
It did give us the chance to get a little closer to the bird than we might have usually been able to so in that respect we were glad but we were even more glad when it was able to take flight again.

how sweet : ) What a great thing to have happen sometimes those moments make my day a little better realizing there is so much more out there (birds, etc.. lol)
What a cute little fellow!
Aw, such sweet pictures! I know you were happy that it was ok.
Last spring, a bird flew into the window at my church and lay there awhile, so Brother Michael got to hold it in his hands till it recovered enough to fly away. He said, "I've always wanted to do this like St. Francis!" He was so excited! :)
Last summer when we were at my son's, a bird flew into their garage and hit a window. My granddaughter carried it to the birdhouse on a high stand in their yard. It sat there a long long time and we were afraid it wasn't going to make it, but then all of a sudden it flew away. It's such a relief when they are back in action again.
It is always a joy when the birds are able to get up and fly away. I love birds and get excited when I see one up close like you were able to do. Glad the story had a happy ending too. Great post.
