i am always amazed and impressed that even after all this time these tiny little christmas confetti thingies still seem to appear from no where! you know the things i mean you put them  on  the dining table and inside gift bags. Although they are little it's not like i haven't tidied dozens of times since the crimbo decorations came down, (honest!!!). But still every now and then one of these little blighters appears... or maybe it's the same one. It just sticks to the sole of my shoe and travels all over the house?

This is one of the most recent additions to my shop, (littlebirdesigns.etsy.com). Its a relief print, created using linoleum, i did it quite a while ago but it is definitely one of my most favourite pieces. Sometimes everything just seems to come together perfectly, colour, shape, composition and i'm actually happy with the results. Often i feel, well next time i might do this or change that, but i was really happy with the final image here. What do you think?

My niece and i like to "curate" the small exhibition space which is my coffee table. We collect anything which we feel is small, attractive and interesting enough to make the grade and then we display them to our hearts content. sometimes there is a theme other times its simply a case of all the things we love just now!

okay i did it again this time the theme is turquoise.

Some of the latest additions to my etsy shop are this series of air clay heart with words/slogans/sayings on them. they can be custom made and personalised . I use them as gift tags and because they are made of air clay they are exceptionally light so can be hung almost anywhere.

I realised that yesterday i spoke about getting a treasury on etsy but i did not explain what etsy is. (I have this habit of asuming you  know everything i know, and this of course is not the case!)
any how Etsy ,  www.etsy.com is a community of international artist and craft makers who promote and sell their wares in small individual shops underneath the umbrella of mother etsy!
There are literally thousands of shops selling prints, jewellery, paintings, sculpture, ceramics, metal work, clothing, glass ware, candles, wood work, music, beauty products, toys, furniture, paper goods, knitted, felted and crocheted products to name but a few. the list is inexhaustible, if it can be hand made then the chances are you will find there on etsy. Added to all this wonderful treasure there is also a supplies and a vintage section. i promise you can lose hours in there!!!!
this is the "front" of my wee shop.

i was lucky enough to snag a treasury on etsy today, and have spent way too much time making it look good, but on the other hand i did find some real gems to include in it.
If i had to pick just one then this might be it.

hello and welcome to my blog.
it's my hope that this blog will be a visual diary/reference of imagery which inspires me and imagery which i create.
I have a little etsy shop which you can find most of my creations in...
littlebirdesigns.etsy.com

(okay that was quite short for a "first ever blog" but at least i have made a start!)
