Fingerprint Friday.

It was a few weeks ago now, but while visiting a local attraction i almost stepped on this nesting oyster catcher as i crossed the car park. I approached it from the other side, where there was no warning sign. The bird had chosen the middle of a car park to lay her eggs, these birds are usually found by the coast and would lay their eggs on a pebble/stone beach. The gravel in the car park must have seemed very similar, hopefully her eggs will hatch and all will be safe. Mother and nest seemed to be fine when i checked on them later, from quite a distance.

I guess sometimes the things we least expect pop up in the places we least expect them!

To view all of the fingerprint friday's or to join in yourself please see Beki's blog

That is so cool! Great photos. Beautiful bird. May you will be able able to get some photos of the birds when they hatch. Blessings, Vicki

Bless her! And what a coincidence I found your blog today - this weekend I came across a nest of baby blackbirds in the busy local garden centre, behind some of the plants for sale.

Pics on my blog if you'd like to take a look :-)

Please report back if you see her (and hopefully her chicks) again!
