We, (a friend and her children,), have just been to the local cinema to see a short animated filmed based on the Lost and Found book by Oliver Jeffers. It is magical. THe story is one of friendship and lonliness. The animation is beautiful and the narration, (voiced by Jim Broadbent), simple and poignant. If you get the chance to see it we are giving it 5 stars. Our favourite bits include the octopus bit, (not in the book) and all the hugging at the end.

North East of Scotland Open Studios.
We are in the middle of our busy open studio week here in Rural Aberdeenshire. The weather has been quite kind to us and we have had a steady stream of visitors. I am enjoying the chance to speak directly to people who have travelled, often quite a distance to view our work. It is very satisfying.
Two of my fellow exhibitors are, like me printmakers/illustrators. Beth is exhibiting some of her charming wood engravings.
Lisa has produced some exquisite mono-prints inspired by trips to Europe.
The three of us have also been working on a piece where in we collaborate on one drawing, we have turned one of these into a screen-print.
We are also selling a small range of jewellery we have each been working on.
Our fourth exhibitor is Linda, Lisa's mum, a keen amateur photographer who's pieces have a strong sense of composition.
If you are in the area we would love to see you. We are open right up until 4pm on Sunday 19th of Sept.

I do concede to going a little camera shutter happy at the local flower and food Festival. I had never been to a flower show before but i cannot recommend it highly enough!
It is like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory but Flowers instead of Chocolate, which has got to be kinder on the waistline, right?

I like the seeds too.
To view all of the fingerprint friday's or to join in yourself please visit Beki's blog.
